Hell Bound Chapter 6
Judas let out a loud burp, satisfied much to his shock and surprise by the meal, not expecting, from the moment he stepped in the House of a Million Wailing Souls, to be able to eat a halfway decent meal much less a meal that reminded him of his mom cooking.
“You really like the food huh”, said Lazarus as he approached Judas upon seeing that his bowl was completely empty after Judas had filled his empty stomach with its contents.
Judas upon hearing what Lazarus said involuntarily let out another burp, confirming that his once empty belly was now full with a meal that, as far as he knew and refused to believe otherwise, did not come from the flesh of another demon kin.
Judas then sat on the floor, allowing the food within his belly to digest while he rested. It had been far too long since he felt the pleasant sensation that came with a full stomach and so he wished to savor and enjoy the sensation as much as he could, knowing that it was too good luxury that he, from the moment in stepped in to the home of the devil himself, could never afford.
“Here, you okay”, asked Lazarus, looking at Judas with a puzzled look on his face, wondering why Judas was seated on the floor with a euphoric and pleasure filled smile on his face.
Judas, his senses completely over taken by the pleasant sensation of having food in his belly simply gave a light chuckle to Lazarus as a reply, puzzling the peculiar boy even more. Lazarus, in the end, chose not to question Judas’s strange behavior after eating and instead decided to join him on the floor.
“Hey, can I ask you a question?” asked Lazarus.
Judas, still wearing that euphoric smile on his face, gave no response to Lazarus’s question. And so, with objection of Judas, Lazarus decided to proceed to ask his question, saying, “What’s it like outside?”
Judas upon hearing the question Lazarus asked him, snapped out of his euphoric trance and then turned to Lazarus, looking at him with a mix of shock and confusion, not knowing how to respond to such a question. The world outside was a living breathing hell, filled monstrous unholy abomination that had forgone whatever purity and innocence they were born with long ago. A cesspool of misery, pain, sorrow, and agony, where the cries and wails of tormented souls echoed about through the air along long with the savage and beastly moans and groans of pleasure of those that have already fallen in to sin as pleased themselves in whatever twisted and unspeakable way, they saw fit. Judas even sometimes believes that in some way the House of a Million Wailing Souls, the home of a literal devil who derives pleasure to tormenting and torturing the innocent and pure souls of children of Haidas until they reach their breaking point and succumb to their sins, becoming twist monstrous and savage beasts with a pitch-black heart and an empty soul. For the things he had witnessed with his own eyes out there in a world filled with unholy monsters and savages, had left a deep scar in his soul, and not matter how badly he wished, he could never unsee those horrendous, twisted, savage, barbaric, abominable and unholy scenes he witnessed in out there in the city of Pride.
Judas then turned to Lazarus, looking at him smiling with carefree expression on his face, the living embodiment of the saying ignorance is bliss, not knowing of the true nature of the chaotic, savage, barbaric, and unholy land he was born in to, or even the true nature of who he was. Then a thought then crossed Judas’s mind for a brief moment as his eyes were still fixed on Lazarus, wondering how in the name of every unholy thing that crept on the surface of Haidas, could a boy like him exist in Haidas. Pure, innocent, and completely ignorant of the world he came from. He seemed like some kind of enigma, a demon spawn who seemed to be able to defy his miserable and sorry fate and find a way to laugh and smile while being inflicted and tormented by the most agonizing form of pain. Judas looked at the strange boy by his side wondering just who he was and where in the entire surface of the unholy world that in Haidas did he crawl out from.
Judas looking at Lazarus, felt a sense of curiosity begin to rise from within despite his unwillingness and reluctance to want to form any kind of relationship with the strange boy, not wanting anything to do with him or any other demon spawn. Judas, despite him wanting to take his distance of Lazarus, found his curiosity outweighed his better judge to simply stay away and avoid interacting or getting involved with Lazarus in any manner or way. And so, in spite of his desire to stay away from the strange demon spawn that stood beside him, Judas, knowing he would most likely regret doing it, opened his mouth to speak in an attempt to satisfy his curiosity, asking Lazarus as single question, “Where did you come from?”
Lazarus upon hearing the question that escaped Judas’s lips paused for a moment to think of a suitable reply, and after a few brief moments, the naïve and innocent boy turned back to Judas with cheerful and childlike playful smile on his face before saying, “Here”.
“What?” said Judas with a shock and confused look on his face upon hearing what Lazarus said?
“I came from here, in this room” said Lazarus while pointing at the floor.
Judas upon hearing Lazarus’s answer for the second time looked at him once with the same look of shock and confusion before, repeating the exact same word as before, “What?!?!”
Lazarus looking at the confused and paused on Judas’s words upon hearing his response to his question looked at him in bewilderment, wondering what was wrong. Then, after taking a moment to collect his thoughts, Judas looked at Judas with a look of intrigue; his interest was piquet and curiosity towards the enigma that was Lazarus had grown.
“Tell me Lazarus”, Judas spoke with the curiosity and intrigue evident in his voice before asking the question that had been echoing in his mind from the very moment Lazarus responded to his question, “Exactly how long have you live here?”
Lazarus upon hearing what Judas said, remained silent for a moment before letting out a deep sigh, glancing at the window, the gateway of which he used to steal a glance of the outside world, the world he knew, before finally shift his gaze away from it, and then, with a head bowed down in sadness, “My entire life”.
“What?” Judas gasped in shock and confusion, wondering how in the surface of every unholy and forsaken world that was Haidas, was it possible for someone as pure and naïve as Lazarus could spend his entire life in a place as vile as the House a Million Wailing Souls their entire life and still remained pure. Judas then began to ponder about how in the unholy name of everything dark and twisted in Haidas did a being a pure and naïve as Lazarus manage to survive in such a place where only agony and misery fester, without losing his purity and innocence.
“Who are you?” Judas pondered out loud looking at Lazarus with a bewildered looked on his face.
“That’s a silly question, I’ve told you before”, Lazarus spoke with his innocence and naivety practically brimming out of his voice.
“I’m Lazarus”, he said with a playful smile on his face causing Judas to ponder even more about who exactly Lazarus was and just how was seemingly able to the impossible and survive in Haidas with his purity and innocence still intact and a playful smile on his face.
Judas, however, could not ponder for long about Lazarus as he was brought out of his train of deep thought upon hearing the room door open up. Lazarus upon hearing the door, pecked up and jumped up from the floor and rushed to the door in excitement.
Judas, upon seeing the way Lazarus reacted upon hearing the door open up, was cautious and fearful but at the very same curios as to who laid on the other side of the door and why Lazarus was so excited upon hearing the door open.
“Temptation”, Lazarus yelled as he leaped in to Temptation’s arms, embracing her in a tight, warm and loving embrace but Temptation, who stood at the other side of the door, wanting reciprocated his act of affection, opened up her arms to embrace the child, but for a fleeting moment, she hesitated and her arms just hung in the air before finally wrapping themselves around him in an embrace that was even tighter than his.
Judas, however, noticed the hesitation from Temptation but didn’t really think much of it, after Lazarus’s relationship with the serpent woman was a peculiar one, noting that even demons aren’t as affection with their own children as she was to Lazarus, in fact the only demon he knew of that show a similar kind of affection like hers was his mother towards him, he never really knew why though but he appreciated it especially after witness firsthand just how cruel and bleak the world he was in was. But seeing the sight of Lazarus holding on to Temptation so tightly, and she reciprocating his embrace with hers, Judas couldn’t help but picture himself in his mother’s arms just like Lazarus was in Temptation, deepen his desire to want to leave that accursed place, find his mother and then embrace and hold her as tight as his small frail arms could and never let go. Judas felt small tears form on his eyes as he imagined himself wrapped up warmly in his beloved mother’s embrace. Judas then wiped away his tears, thinking to himself that all he had to do was spend a little more time with Lazarus confine in that room and soon his wish would be granted to see and embrace his mother just like Lazarus was busy embracing his.
Temptation then gently dropped Lazarus down on the floor with a warm and pleased smile on his face, happy to see that was still cheerful and happy little self.
“Temptation you’re here because Mr. Lucifer wants to play right”, Lazarus spoke with a look of excited and eagerness in his voice, much to Judas’s horror and dread, already having an idea of what Lazarus meant went he spoke about Lucifer wanting to play with the child’s warped and twisted perception of pain. Judas didn’t not even want to begin to imagine what kind of horrific ‘games’ Lazarus and the Supreme Devil would play, knowing the greatest forms of agonizing pain would only make the child laugh with glee and enjoyment.
Temptation upon hearing what Judas said, bowed down her head, hating that fact that her precious little boy had to suffer so much, and that, in the hands of his very own father, but her tormented her was consoled slightly by the fact that he perceived it all as nothing more than fun and games, and was oblivious to the deep seeded hatred his father had for him or that he was even his father to begin. Temptation then placed her hand son cheeks, not have the strength to speak with her own voice and simply nodded her head in confirmation to his words, much to his excite and Judas’s horror.
“Really”, said Lazarus in excitement as he really wanted to ‘play’ with Lucifer.
Lazarus then turned to glance at Judas who just stood there with sweat dripping down from his brow and a heart pound with so much intensity the Lazarus swore he could hear it from where he stood.
“What about Judas?” asked Lazarus, naively mistaking Judas’s blatant fear for an eagerness to ‘play’ with Lucifer as well which was far from the actual case.
Temptation upon hearing what Lazarus said simple let out a deep sigh before shifting her gaze to look at the frightened little boy standing behind Lazarus, flashing an apologetic look of pity his way before saying something that completely shattered the young boy’s mind with fear and horror.
“Lucifer said he should as well, saying it would be ‘more fun’ with the two of you”, said Temptation with the moment she uttered those words, Judas felt as though his soul had depart from his body.
“Really”, Lazarus’s face lit up with excitement, completely oblivious to the distressed and petrified state the young demon spawn behind him was in.
Temptation who could see clearly just how frighten and horrified Judas was as the mere idea of him being the very presence of the Supreme Devil was enough to send even greatest and most fearsome of demons quivering and shaking with fear and dread, and for a child who was still clinging on tightly to his purity and innocence, it must be an express for worse than anything any form of hell could render.
“Come on Lazarus, let’s go. We mustn’t keep Mr. Lucifer waiting for us”, said Temptation spoke with a warm smile on her face, masking her pain and turmoil well enough to full Lazarus just like she had been doing from the very moment he was born.
“Alright then, I wonder kind of game will play, snap, crack, or tear. Maybe we’ll play all three”, Lazarus spoke as Temptation led him out the door, bring in even more fear and dread to Judas’s heart as his fear driven mind back to create horrify and very vivid images based on the ‘games’ Lazarus mentions.
As Temptation and Lazarus walked out the door, Judas contemplated, just for a moment, of sprint out the wide open door even though he knew would get every far, the House of a million wailing was like a fortress, specially design to torment to the pain of insanity, all those unlucky soul who found themselves trapped with the confines its four walls, fortress where only those who had thoroughly been broken down and sunk in to the deepest depth of despair, agony, and misery, can ever step out of. Judas knew his limitation well enough to know that any attempt he made leave that place would be immediately as the castle itself was like a maze filled with thousands of thousands of rooms each one echoing with eyes of children just like him, and along with that, Lucifer’s subordinate, savage abomination with broken minds that could only harbor thoughts as savage as abominable as them, prowled about all through the castle and more than pleased to dismantle and devour the limbs of anyone that catch trying to escape the House of a Million wailing souls. But even after knowing all that, the thought still lingered on Judas’s head, run and flee, knowing that any fate on the surface of the damned world he stood upon, would be preferable that playing ‘games’ with the Supreme Devil.
However, before Judas could even began to contemplate on acting upon his desire to flee, whatever thought he had about the put to an end by Temptation gaze locking with his with eyes transform in blood red scarlet demonic eyes. With her gaze fixed upon his, felt his body freeze up and go numb, a sensation that made him feel detached from his body as though all control, he had over it was complete gone. He then heard Temptation whispering softly to him with a twisted and distorted voice, “Come”.
Upon hearing those words, Judas watched with filled with shock, confusion, and fear, as his body began to leave on its own going against his will and walking to door, stepping out of it and following Lazarus from behind. Temptation then let out a deep sigh before apologizing to Judas in her mind, feeling bad for having to force him to a fate every demon in the City of Pride if not the entirety of Haidas would dread, fate that would make even the prospect of death desirable. But at the end of the day she knew her apologizing was pointless at that point, as his fate, along with all children with the House, hers, and even Lucifer’s, was all destined to end in misery, sorrow, and despair, and they were all powerless to deny their fate. However, Temptation glanced at her little one, seeing the warm smile on his face, hoped and prayed to whatever being or god that would dare to listen to the prayers of a demon, that if their existed a child born of Haidas that could deny the fate placed upon them, it would be her little Lazarus, for that was the only thing she could as his mother.
