Looking at that little bastard of his, seeing the look of dread, horror, and despair in his eyes before returning his back to Temptation, seeing the pain in her eyes as looked at her son, wanting to nothing more than to rush straight to him and console and help soothe his pain. The Supreme Devil, with a wicked grin plastered on his face, spoke with a voice filled with glee, “Temptation, take him back to his room. I’m done with him”. Temptation upon hearing what her master said, simply bowed her head, internal grateful and happy that it was over and she could finally take her little one away and console him. She then went to him, looking at him and seeing that his body was completely healed but his eyes, though eyes that once shone and glowed with joy now looked deemed, flicker that looked as though it was soon be snuffed ou

Why Life's Reason to Live is To Live

In the beginning, before anything was, from the vast and endless expanse of nothingness, a single being came to be.

The first consciousness born out of nothing, existing simply because it could, owing its existence to nothing as nothing was before him.

The being spent eons alone in empty abyss of nothing it was born, existing alone as the sole thing to exist.

Then, after spending the equivalent an eternity in the abyss the being began to wonder if anything apart from him could be, as it did, it began to ponder how another creation could be, what it would look like, how it would behave and feel.

And from his thoughts alone, the second form of existence came to be, though formless and lifeless, it was different from the vast empty nothingness that surrounded him.

A tiny peck of space existing independently from the nothingness, created from the being’s thoughts alone.

The being upon seeing the small peck it had created wondered what else it could create, with faint and abstract forms of existence beginning to form in his mind and as they did, they began to take form and exist along with being.

The being continued to pound about what could possible exists and as he did, his thoughts took form and substance.

The created darkness, light and matter and infinite space for them to occupy and exist in.

And after millennia upon millennia of creating, the being stood at the center of it all, marveling at his creation, vast worlds of different shapes and forms, stars, moons and different celestial bodies, time and space itself, even the laws that maintained and sustained their existence, he created them all and they owed their existence to him.

But despite all his accomplishments and all he had managed to create, the being still felt unfulfilled, feeling as though his work was not complete and they were still something he was yet to create.

The question was what could that thing be?

The being spent several millennia asking and pondering to himself what that one thing he was yet to create was before realizing what it was.

It was something he had never thought to create before, something completely and utterly different from his other creations, something that could feel and comprehend its own existence, something conscious, something alive.

The being having conceptualized his creation began to give it form and substance, bringing out from the realm of his mere thoughts to reality.

The first thing to live, and be conscious apart from the being himself.

The being looked what he had created was displeased with it.

It looked hollow and empty, alive but yet felt cold and dead from within.

It was alive but yet seemed like it wasn’t, it remained still and motionless even though it could move on its own, it choose to do nothing despite being able to do so much.

The being looked at his creation with unimpressed eyes, deeming it a failure and then, for the very first time since he started creating, sought to put an end to his creation.

The being then thought about the end to his creation, the end of life, thus death came to be, then in an instant, the first living creation fell to ice cold embrace of death.

The being just sighed deeply, lamenting on his failure and pondering what went wrong with his creation.

It was indeed alive, and could do whatever wished if it so desire, so why did it choose to do nothing and remain still and motionless, as if there was no difference between it and the many lifeless being he had created.

The being spent millennia pondering what when wrong with his creation before finally realizing what was wrong with his creation, discovering that the problem wasn’t with the creation itself but it was the fact that it didn’t have any reason to do anything but simply be.

Understanding that life was a complex thing unlike the simpler forms of existence that simple followed the fundamental rules he created to act, life can act on its own but just because it can doesn’t mean it will.

Life needs a reason to act, otherwise it will remain idle, still and motionless, for life to do anything, it must have a reason to do so.

The being then thought back its own existence, remembering how it took him an eternity to begin to ponder about creation and what could possibly be apart from himself which led to the creation of another entity apart from himself.

That fact that it took him an eternity to do a simple enough act like pondering was proof enough to him that for life to act it needed a reason to do.

So keeping that in mind, the being decided to create life again but this time gave them a reason to act and that was to, above all else, to live in any way possible.

The being decided to instill, in the living being he created an innate and primal desire to live with the added incentive of death, the absence of death, the second thing that was created after life, to ensure that life would forever have a reason to act.

Upon creating the living being, he placed it in one of the may worlds it had created.

He was pleased was it immediately begun to act, with each action driven solely with the desire to live.

The being didn’t know to what extent this innate drive would make the living.

being act until he saw it begin to eat and consume the non living matter that surround ed it for strength and sustenance before it began to replicate and multiple to ensure that even after its death it will continue to live on in the replicates it produced, the replicates then began to change forms to match the world they were placed in, then a seemly barbaric and vicious circle was born when the replicate of the living being began to eat and consume one another to easier gain the strength needed to sustain themselves.

The being watched with intrigue, not knowing that desire to live was so powerful, as he watched as the replicates from the living being had continued to change and replicate until they were completely unrecognizable from the being they came from and taking various distinct forms.

He watched the various forms they took to match their world and continue to live.

He marveled and all they did just to live, growing strong, fast and crafty to protect themselves from the dangers of their and themselves.

He watched as chain of life and death began to form, with the living, from the very moment of conception, fighting to keep living until death inevitably comes for them, only for them to be consumed by another living for sustenance which will inevitably die like the former, and thus the cycle will continue and continue.

Barbaric, yes, that was what was needed for life to act.

The being, by giving life a reason to act, had created a self sustaining chain in which the constant threat of losing their life drove the beings to act to preserve it as long as they can, driving every single action they make and forcing them to replicate and change, taking various forms, all of them unique and different but with the same goal, to live.

The site alone made the being shed a tear as he watched them all live their lives.

After creating such unique and beautiful as life, the being stopped decided creating as anything attempting to, in his eyes, would always fall short when compared to life, his most precious creation.

So the being spent the rest of its existence watching life as it grew and continued to change.
