Mystic Conflict chapter 3

Chapter 3

Braiba just couldn’t get that beast off her mind; she knew all the creatures that were in the forest from the ones that could not harm another living thing to those that would kill and devour anything that came too close and yet she had neither nor had she seen a beast quite like the one she saw that day.

She could not sleep that night as thoughts of the beast filled her mind so she decided to take a book of great and deadly beast that had ever walked the earth and read hoping that she would find something about the beast. She opened the book and found a page about a creature that resembled the beast.

“Loliya Perinama but some choose to call it the Moon Beast.
It’s a very dangerous and deadly creature; very few people encounter it and live to tell the tale.
It comes from the dark hellish world of Tonjurofori Ama, the world of eternal night.
The creature in the day is fierce and dangerous, yes, but at night when moonlight reaches it, it becomes a true monster.
Bloodthirsty added with a hunger for chaos and destruction, this beast gives even the bravest and mightiest of warriors nightmares.”

Braiba’s eyes widened in fear, wondering if the beast she, Anja, and Amasu encountered was a Moon Beast.

The thought of such a creature roaming around the forest frightened and terrified her.

She looked outside through the window and saw the moon; it was full which worsened her fears because if the beast truly was a Moon Beast then the full moon would no doubtable increase its strength tenfold.

She knew she had to do something; such a creature roaming about in the forest could cause serious harm to those in it.

Braiba knew she had to find a way to stop the beast before it wreaks havoc in the forest but she also knew she could not do this alone so she went up to Anja’s room so she could ask for his help, hoping that together they both of them would be able to stop the beast before it wreak havoc upon the peaceful forest.

Anja was fast asleep and like a rock, he remained motionless as he slept.

“Anja, Anja, Anja,” said Braiba softly while shaking, trying to wake him up but it was no use, no matter how hard she tried Anja refused to wake up.

Braiba seeing that Anja refused to wake up decided to blast with her magic.

Braiba’s magic seem to do the trick as Anja jolted up and he was about to scream from the blast as it brought him tremendous pain but before he could Braiba covers his mouth.

“Shhh, we don’t want to walk Mom and Dad,” said Braiba before she removes her hands from his mouth.

“First of all, that really hurt, and second of all why did you do that,” said Anja a little annoyed and angry at Braiba for waking him up like that.

“Sorry but you were sleeping like a rock and it was the only way I could think of to wake you up,” said Braiba.

“Why did you want to wake me up, especially so late at night,” asked Anja.

“Because of this,” said Braiba as she brought out the book of great and deadly beasts.

“You woke me up for a book,” said Anja.

“No, I woke you up for this,” said Braiba as she opened the page of the book that spoke about the Moon Beast.

Anja saw a picture of the beast in the book and immediately recognized it.

He then takes the book and began to read it.

His eyes widen in fear and horror as he read what the book said about the beast.

He then looked out the window and saw that it was full.

He then turned to his sister and the both of them shared a look of terror and fear as they knew what was lurking out there was even more dangerous with a full moon.

“We need to tell Mom and Dad,” said Anja.

“No we don’t,” said Braiba.

“What? Did you even read this; this thing out there is dangerous, do you know what kind of damage, chaos, and destruction such a creature can wreak” said Anja.

“I do but think for a minute Anja, if we tell Mom or Dad about this we would have to tell them how we know about this beast, and if we do that we would have to tell them about the Buganbalian,” said Braiba.

Anja took a moment to think about it and realized that Braiba was right; there was no telling how their parents would react upon hearing about Amasu.

“So what are you suggesting sister,” asked Anja.

“We handle this on our own, we find the beast and slay it before it causes any harm to the forest or those living in it,” said Braiba.

"Do you think we can slay a beast like this?” asked Anja.

“We are a Storm Maker and Sorceress, a pairing far more formidable than any beast can ever be,” said Braiba.

Anja then smiled before saying “You are right sister; we are a formidable pair one no beast can defeat”.

“Come on Anja my dear brother, let’s go slay a beast,” said Braiba.

Amasu was sitting down on his bed when heard a ferocious roar that echoed throughout Buganbal.

Amasu upon hearing this roar looked out the window to see what made the roar.

He was left speechless as he saw the Moon Beast flying high up in the sky before it landed in Buganbal.

The people of Buganbal began to panic and run when they saw the beast out of fear.

The beast then began to wreak havoc, chaos, and destruction.

Using the spikes on its mighty tale to hit and demolish buildings, stumping and crushing on the people as they ran away from it in fear and panic.

Amasu knew he had to do something; he couldn’t just stand there while this beast destroys everything in Buganbal.

He brought out his sword and left the house to face the Moon Beast.

“How on earth do we find the beast, this is a big forest, it could take hours maybe even days before we find the beast,” said Anja as he and Braiba were now in the forest looking for the beast.

“I have an idea,” said Braiba.

“What is it,” asked Anja.

“I can cast a tracking spell to help us find the beast,” said Braiba.

“Do you think that would work” asked Anja?

"It’s worth a try,” said Braiba before she sat down on the fall.

She took a few short breaths, closed her eyes, and focused her mind on the Moon Beast.

“Duki Loliya Perinama” whispered Braiba softly, casting the location spell.

Braiba see the beast in Buganbal as it was wreaking chaos across the land.

She then felt dark power inside the beast, a power that did come from the beast but from something else.

Braiba opens up her eyes and gets up and says “I know where the beast is”.

“Where is it?” asked Anja.

“In Buganbal,” said Braiba.

Anja upon hearing that the monster was in Buganbal did not want to go out the hatred he felt for the people of Buganbal and what they did to their parents.

“Come on Anja we have to go,” said Braiba.

"Why should we help them; the monster is their problem not ours,” said Anja.

“Anja, the Moon Beast is a very dangerous and deadly creature, there is no telling the level of chaos and destruction it could cause in Buganbal,” said Braiba.

“So let it wreak havoc and destruction, they deserve every form of cruelty that creature inflicts on them,” said Anja angrily.

“I can’t believe you, Anja. They are innocent people in Buganbal and you are seriously ready to let them all die because of your hatred towards them” said Braiba unable to believe that her brother was so blinded by hatred towards the people of Buganbal that he was ready to let them all die in the hands of the moon beast.

“They thought it was alright to kill every single mystical creature in Buganbal, they forced our parents out of there and blamed them for their king’s death without even bothering to ask them what happened,” said Anja angrily so much so that a small storm cloud formed over his head.

Braiba sighed, understanding his brother’s anger, and said “I know, they’ve done so much to us and do not deserve our help but we still have to help them”.

“Why? After everything they have done to us, why should we help them” asked Anja.

“Because it’s the right thing to do and you know it,” said Braiba.

Anja sighed knowing deep down that his sister was right. Even though he was angry and hated the people of Buganbal immensely he knew allowing them all to die in the hands of the moonlight beast was wrong.

“Alright but as soon as we are done with that beast we leave that place and never go back, agreed,” said Anja.

“Agreed,” said Braiba with a warm smile on her face, happy that she managed to convince her brother to let go of his ego and hatred to do the right thing.
