The people as they ran wondered if he was mad for choosing to run towards the beast instead of away from the beast but Amasu did not care.
To him, this was his chance to prove himself to his father and the people of Buganbal.
He finally reached the beast and then brought out his sword.
He took a few short breaths, gathering the courage to face the beast before he charged straight toward it with his sword.
He tried to strike it down with his sword but the beast's skin was so strong and tough that his sword’s blade shattered and broke apart the moment he struck the beast it.
“Oh no,” said Amasu as he looked at his broken sword.
The beast then looked at Amasu and swipes him away with one of its front legs.
Amasu was sent flying and crashing into a wall. Amasu was now on the ground wounded and weakened.
The beast charged straight toward him, to finish him off with a single blow but before he could reach Amasu a ball of magic came out of nowhere and blasts the beast away.
“Are you okay?” said a familiar voice.
Amasu then got up, turned around, and saw Anja and Braiba.
"You two but aren’t mystical creatures supposed to stay outside the Buganbal,” said Amasu shocked upon seeing both Anja and Braiba.
“Believe me when I say this was the last place I wanted to come to but my persuasive sister over here managed to convince me to come,” said Anja a little bitterly as he was still angry that he was in Buganbal.
“I’m glad you are here; I could use the help,” said Amasu, grateful t Anja and Braiba for coming to Buganbal's aid despite the troubled history their kind had in it.
“No kidding, did you try to slay the beast with a bladeless sword,” said Anja looking at Amasu’s broken sword.
“Yeah, I tried to slay it with my sword but the beast’s skin was too tough and it broke. On top of that its attacks did a great deal of damage on me” said Amasu looking at the wounds inflicted upon him by the beast.
“I think I can help with that,” said Braiba as she used her magic to heal Amasu's wounds.
"Thank you,” said Amasu to Braiba.
“Don’t thank us yet, we still have a beast to slay” said Anja.
Delamu was roaming the streets with some of the other royal guards, escorting Princess Tari, the first and only child of King Atoni as she roamed the streets of Buganbal, enjoying the beauty of the kingdom at nightfall.
The beast that was sent flying through the kingdom of Buganbal crashed next to the guards who were escorting the princess.
“It can’t be,” said Delamu, recognizing the beast.
The guards brought out their swords instantly as they saw the beast.
“Put down your sword men, they won’t be and use against this beast,” said Delamu.
One of the guards then went close to the beast to check if it was alive but before he could even reach it wakes up and swallows the guard whole.
"Keep the princess protected at any cost,” said Delamu, having witnessed, along with the princess and other guards, the horrific sight of the guard being devoured by the beast.
Delamu and the other guards then surrounded the princess and brought out their swords in an attempt to protect her. Then the beast roar ferociously before it sent them flying away with just a swipe of its gigantic claw-filled paw.
It then set its sights on the princess before it grabs her with one of its paws.
The beast stares into the princess’s eyes with its big bloody red eyes.
The princess froze up, fearing that the beast may devour her.
But then she heard the roar of thunder and lightning and a powerful lightning bolt came out of nowhere and struck the beast, causing it to let go of the princess which sent the princess falling but before she could reach the ground she felt something grab hold of her.
She looked up to see what it was and saw Anja carrying her in his hands while flying.
“Who are you?” asked the princess.
“A Storm Maker,” said Anja as he landed on the ground and placed her gently on the ground.
“Thank you,” said Tari.
"You are welcome,” said Anja before he flew away.
Anja flew back to the beast striking it again and again with powerful lightning bolts but Anja’s attacks weren’t enough to take the beast down.
It struck Anja with its sharp claws, causing Anja to fall and crash down hard to the ground before Braiba and Amasu rush to help him up.
"Are you ok?” asked Braiba.
“I will live,” said Anja as he got up.
“Any ideas on how to take down this beast,” asked Anja to Amasu.
“It draws its power from moonlight which means as long as the moon is out it is unstoppable,” said Amasu.
“If the moon is what gives it its strength right, why don’t we just block the moon then” said Braiba.
“What on earth is high enough to block the moon,” asked Amasu.
"A storm cloud,” said Anja, understanding what his sister was planning.
"Exactly brother,” said Braiba with a smile on her face.
"Why are you smiling,” asked Amasu.
"I have a plan. I’m going to need your sword” said Braiba.
“Here you go but I don’t see how this sword would do us any good since its blade is broken,” said Amasu as he gave her his sword.
Braiba then used her magic to restore and repair the sword.
“How did you” Amasu was left speechless by what Braiba had done.
“That’s the thing about magic it can do almost anything,” said Braiba as she gave him back his sword.
As Amasu wielded the sword it felt lighter and yet more powerful, he couldn’t explain it.
"The blade of the sword is now enchanted making it unbreakable,” said Braiba.
“Thank you,” said Amasu.
Braiba just smiled and said, “You are welcome”.
“Alright then what’s the plan,” asked Amasu as he readied his now enchanted bladed sword for battle.
“Simple, you and I distract the beast while Anja uses his powers to summon a storm cloud big enough to cover the moon, without the moon to give the beast its strength I and Amasu can end it with a final blow,” said Braiba.
“Alright then that seems simple enough to do,” said Amasu.
“Are you up for this Buganbalian?” asked Anja to Amasu.
“Are you kidding me, slaying a beast as great as this has always been my dream” said Amasu with a look of excitement as he readied his sword.
Anja smiled, admiring Amasu’s excitement about battling a beast most of the mightiest warriors in the land were afraid of.
The three of them then set their sights on the beast.
Anja then flew high up to the sky to execute their plan.
The beast, seeing Anja as he flew, decided to chase after him, using its horrid demon-like wings it took to the sky to fly after Anja.
Anja saw that the beast was chasing after him and tried to strike it down with a lightning bolt but his lightning bolts did not enrage the beast.
“Braiba, Amasu could you help me before I become this beast’s launch,” said Anja.
Braiba then used her magic to drag the beast back down to the ground.
The beast was about to take to the skies once again to chase after Anja but then Amasu attacked, using the blade of his sword to strike one of the beast’s legs.
The blade went through the leg, wounding the beast and caused to roar ferociously in pain.
The beast hits Amasu with its tail, sending them flying and crashing down to the ground.
The beast then rose its tail up, about to impale Amasu with the spike on it.
The tail was about to hit Amasu but just before it could reach him Braiba used her magic to create a protective magical barrier around him, protecting him from the beast’s tale.
“Anja” Braiba called out to her brother. Anja, who was now high up in the clouds heard his sister call his name and understood that he had to strike.
He then closed his eyes and took in a deep breath.
Storm clouds then began to slowly form around him.
The beast heard the roar of thunder as the storm clouds formed high up in the sky.
The beast then looked up to the sky and saw that Anja was trying to block the moon with a storm cloud. It then tried to fly to him and stop him but Braiba used her magic to ground it and prevent it from flying.
The beast, in an attempt to free itself from Braiba’s magic, swiped Braiba away with one of its paws, hurting Braiba and also freeing it from her magic in the process.
The beast, now free from Braiba’s magic, took to the sky to stop Anja before he completely covers the moon with his storm clouds.
The storm clouds grew and grew, almost completely covering away the moon.
The beast made its way to Anja, about to reach him but then Anja opened up his eyes which were now glowing blue like lightning, and as he did the storm clouds began to roar with thunder with sparks of lightning crackling around them.
The storm clouds then completely engulfed the moon, blocking the moonlight that gave the beast all its power.
Beast without the moonlight grew weak and began to shrink down to its original form.
Its wings then disappeared causing it to crash down to the ground. Amasu and Braiba then went to where the beast crashed.
Amasu and Braiba then saw the beast who had now reverted to its original form lying down on the ground with its eyes closed shut.
“Is it dead?” asked Braiba wondering if the beast had finally breathed its last.
But then the beast's eyes opened up.
It then jumped towards Braiba with its mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth wide open but before it could reach her Amasu slice off its head, killing it instantly.
"Now it is,” said Amasu.
Anja then flew then to Braiba and Amasu.
"I can’t believe that just happened. I just killed a beast and not just any beast a moonlight beast. Today must be the luckiest day of my life” said Amasu.
Then the people of Buganbal surrounded them.
The people did not look happy or even grateful towards Anja, Braiba, and Amasu they were quite the opposite of grateful.
They looked angry with their eyes filled with rage and hatred.
The people then began to mumble and whisper about Anja and Braiba being a sorceress and a storm maker before one man from within the crowd of people said “The sorceress and storm maker are the ones that probably summoned the beast here to kill us”.
And with that, a riot broke out as people began to scream and shout saying Anja and Braiba were the ones that brought the beast there.
The people soon began to throw stones at them.
One man even brought out a dagger and attempted to stab Braiba but Amasu stopped him by grabbing hold of his arm before the dagger could reach her. Amasu then pushed the man away and sent him falling to the ground with his dagger.
“ENOUGH!!!!!!” screamed Amasu at the top of his lungs.
The people then stopped and a dead silence then filled the air around them.
“You all should be ashamed of yourselves. These people risked their lives to come to save you from a beast that could have easily ended you all and this is how you repay them” said Amasu feeling disgusted and shame over what his people were doing.
“You know I’ve read about bloodthirsty beasts and monsters who wouldn’t think twice before devouring anything that crosses their part, I heard of cruel beasts who only live to inflict pain and suffering upon every single living thing around them, I have even heard of the beast who show no mercy, not even to their offspring but you all have proven to be far worse than any of that beast. At least those beasts are monsters, it is in their nature to be cruel and heartless but you all are human beings, what’s your excuse for being so heartless” said Amasu.
Amasu’s speech might have come from the heart but the people were not ready nor were they willing to listen.
“He has been bewitched by them,” said one of the men in the crowd.
“Yes, they must have bewitched him with black magic,” said another person.
The people then continued their rioting against Anja, Braiba, and Amasu.
The riot got so bad that a man brought out a stick and was to use it to hit them all but before he could Anja used his powers to summon a mighty that sent the man and the people rioting around them away.
“Enough of this, I can see now that coming here was a mistake,” said Anja as he went to his sister.
“Come on Braiba, let’s leave this place and its ungrateful people,” said Anja bitterly and filled with disgust towards the people of Buganbal.
“Alright then, goodbye Amasu,” said Braiba, waving goodbye to Amasu before she held her brother’s arm and used her magic to make both her and her brother disappear in a flash of blinding light.
“Thank goodness they’re gone, who knows what kind of beast they would have sent our way if they had stayed,” said a person in the crowd.
Amasu felt nothing but disgust and anger towards the people because of the way they treated Anja and Braiba. He was about to say something against them when a voice echoed through the crowd “What on earth is going on here”.
The crowd then turned around and saw Delamu and his group of royal guards who were assigned to guard the princess.
“I asked a question and I am waiting for my reply,” said Delamu.
“It’s your son, he has grown even madder thanks to the dark magic of the sorceress and storm maker,” said a man from the crowd.
"Did you just say a sorceress and a storm maker?” asked Delamu shocked.
“Yes, they came here and killed the beast but if you ask me it was probably them that brought here in the first place,” said the man from the crowd. Delamu then went to his son.
“Father I...” Delamu stopped Amasu from completing his sentence by saying “Just go home son”.
Delamu then saw the head of the beast on the floor and picked it up.
He looked at the red eyes of the beast and realized that it was under the control of magic, dark magic.
"What are you doing sir?” asked one of the guards.
“It’s nothing important we must find the princess and get her to the palace,” said Delamu.
The guards all nodded before they left to find the princess.
Delamu looked at the beast’s head once again and sighed knowing that a cloud of darkness was coming and that beast was just the beginning.
